Vermont is packed with stunning scenery, and one of the best parts of being a pet photographer is exploring these beautiful locations with dogs and their people. Whether you're dreaming of mountain views, peaceful trails, or playful water shots, there's a perfect spot to capture your dog's personality and your bond together.
Here are five of my favorite places for pet photography sessions:
1. Mills Riverside Park – Jericho, VT
Nestled in the heart of Jericho, Mills Riverside Park offers a little bit of everything—open fields perfect for play, peaceful trails for connection, and a scenic pond with Mount Mansfield rising in the background. Whether we’re running through tall grass or capturing golden hour by the water, this spot always delivers gorgeous variety. It’s ideal for dogs who love to explore and families who want a mix of playful and serene moments.

2. Oakledge Park – Burlington, VT
If you love waterfront sessions, Oakledge is hard to beat. This Burlington gem features rocky ledges, lake views, and little hideaways that offer stunning light and texture. It’s one of my go-to spots for silhouette shots during sunset, and the mix of natural and urban elements adds a creative edge to your gallery. Whether your dog is splashing in the shallows or soaking in the view, Oakledge brings the summer vibes.
3. Kikas Valley Farm Trails – Jericho, VT
Looking for something a little quieter and more intimate? Kikas Valley Farm Trails is a peaceful spot tucked away in Jericho. It’s a hidden gem with gently winding paths, a wide field to roam, and fewer distractions—making it a great location for dogs who prefer a slower pace or need space to feel comfortable. The soft light and simple landscape let your dog’s personality shine without distraction.

4. Brewster River Gorge – Jeffersonville, VT
This one’s for the water lovers! Brewster River in Jeffersonville is a stunning natural playground with winding trails, rushing waterfalls, and clear riverbanks. If your pup lights up at the sound of water or loves a splash mid-session, this is the perfect setting. The surrounding forest and rock formations add texture and drama, while the flowing river brings movement and energy to your photos.

5. St. Albans Bay Town Park – St. Albans, VT
Tucked along Lake Champlain, this peaceful park offers lakefront views, wide open grassy areas, and tree-lined paths that make a perfect mix of beauty and relaxation. The gentle shoreline is ideal for dogs who want to dip their paws without full-on swimming, and the open space is great for running, playing, or just soaking up the sun. Bonus: the sunsets here are stunning.

No matter which location speaks to you, the real magic happens when we let your dog just be themselves—sniffing, exploring, connecting with you in the moment. These spots aren’t just beautiful; they’re places where stories unfold and memories are made.
