One of the most rewarding parts of being a pet and family photographer is creating a gallery that feels as dynamic, expressive, and heartfelt as the pets and people in it. At Wild Wonders Photography, I don’t just aim for one or two “perfect” portraits — I craft a visual story made up of many different types of images. Why? Because your pet’s story (and yours!) deserves to be told from more than one angle.
Here’s a peek behind the scenes at the kinds of images I intentionally capture during every session to bring life and diversity to your gallery:
Classic Portraits
Every session includes posed portraits with clean, focused compositions. These are the “look at the camera” images where I showcase your pet’s face, expression, and unique personality — with a sharp eye for lighting, background, and detail.
Action Shots
Whether it’s a joyful run through the field, a splash in the water, or a game of fetch, action shots are full of life and movement. They capture your dog doing what they love — and remind you of their adventurous spirit.

Scenic and Wide Angles
Especially for my outdoor sessions, I love pulling back the lens to include the breathtaking natural setting. These wide-angle shots highlight your pet in the grand landscape — mountains, meadows, forests, and sunsets — and bring a beautiful sense of place to your gallery.

Together and Alone
I always capture images of your dog both on their own and with you — whether that’s your whole family or just the two of you. This mix creates a complete view of their world and all the love in it.

Detail Shots
A close-up of their nose, their paw in your hand, the texture of their fur, or the tilt of an ear — these little details speak volumes. These macro-style images add emotion, artistry, and often surprise to the gallery.
Silhouettes and Artistic Images
When the light is just right, I create silhouettes and other artistic frames that feel almost like paintings. These dramatic images add depth and a fine-art feel to your final collection.

Creating a well-rounded gallery is about more than variety — it’s about telling your story. Every image serves a purpose and adds another layer to the memories we’re preserving together. Though location matters, I do try to get as many types of images as possible to make your gallery meaningful to you and your dog!
When you look back on your gallery, I want you to see more than just what your dog looked like — I want you to remember what they felt like, what that day meant, and how much love filled every frame.
